Dr Stuart Lawrence, Clinic Director
Dr Stuart qualified in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) and Masters (MSc) in Chiropractic from Bournemouth, the first and most prestigious college in Europe.
He is a highly experienced therapist and qualified in a wide range of techniques including manual therapy, Pilates, acupuncture and myofascial release techniques. He is passionate about helping people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, feel better and manage their symptoms in the most optimal way.
Dr Stuart has been having chiropractic care since he was in his teens, following a severe injury to his spine. Having experienced first-hand how this chiropractic helped and worked, he became motivated to study not just chiropractic, but other techniques and emerging treatments that help people to enjoy a pain free and active life. He is passionate about researching the latest clinical techniques and manipulation therapies within chiropractic, osteopathy and physiotherapy as well as other treatments to make sure that his patients receive the best possible care that is available for them.
Lisa McMahon, Sports Massage Therapist
Lisa is a qualified beauty/holistic therapist who has been in the health and fitness industry for over twenty years. She has managed salons in the North of England and owned her own in Leigh on Sea, Essex up until a couple of years ago. Lisa, who is from Newcastle upon Tyne, has plenty of experience in body massage and treatments to suit all her client’s needs. Body work is really something she enjoys and is passionate about. She also enjoys yoga and meditation.
She is married to Brian, has a son called Jake, a Chihuahua called Hero and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She relaxes by walking and reading but her real passion is travelling and has seen various places throughout the world over the years and hopes to see lots more.
Jon Ward, Sports Massage Therapist
Jon is a fully qualified Soft Tissue Therapist having studied at the London School of Sports Massage, which is seen by many as the pioneers and profession leaders for Sports Massage. Having worked in the Finance Industry for a long period of time, Jon was looking for a different career path. This new path became clearer after sustaining an injury whilst training for his first London Marathon in 2013. The excellent treatment he received enabled him to recover quickly enough for him to complete his training and the race itself. Having felt at first hand the benefits of massage, when administered correctly, Jon set his sights on being able to give others the same positive experience. His plan came to fruition in January 2017 when he gained his qualifications.
Jon’s outside interests usually revolve around sport. He is an FA qualified Football Coach, a Level 2 Gym Instructor, a keen runner having run numerous Marathons, Half Marathons and other endurance races, played and coached tennis locally and enjoys a round of golf when he can.
Jon is married to Judith and has two sons.
Mick Champness, Clinic Manager
Mick has been part of the clinical support team at Spinal and Natural Healthcare Centre since October 2023 but has attended the clinic for treatment on a troublesome back since November 2022 (and continues to do so). He looks after the administrative side of the business, which allows Dr Stuart to focus on what he does best and is passionate about growing the business. Before that, he spent the previous thirty-five years in the Legal and Investment Banking industries, in Team Leader, Manager and Senior Manager roles. He holds a BTEC in Team Leading and Management.
Mick has been married for twenty-five years but has known his wife, Tina, for over forty years, has two children (Sam and Abby) and a Beagle called Maddie. His interests include football and music. After a recent health scare, he is working hard on improving his fitness by walking, cycling and attending weekly exercise classes.
Pam Cox, Clinical Support Assistant
Pam has been working part-time for Dr. Stuart for over fourteen years as part of the Clinical Support Team. She really enjoys the work, having seen Dr. Stuart help so many people, children and dogs live better lives! Pam believes the atmosphere in the clinic is second to none and thoroughly enjoys having Dr. Stuart as her boss!
Pam has suffered with a variety of back problems over the years (disc removal in her 30s) along with osteoporosis and arthritis now in later life. Dr. Stuart keeps it all moving so she can continue attending exercise classes which she loves and enjoying long walks with her husband Mike and their friends.
Gill Sage, Clinical Support Assistant
Gill has been attending the clinic herself for twelve years and has worked as a receptionist with the clinical support team since October 2023. Gill has over thirty years’ experience in customer services, mostly as a Manager in the Financial sector. She is a people person who enjoys the interaction with the clients.
Gills loves travelling and has been fortunate enough to have visited over fifty different destinations so far.

Heather is part of our clinical support team and works on the reception desk. She spent many years working in the Civil Service and loves to work with the general public. She took early retirement in 2020.
When not at work, Heather’s passion is working in her garden, as and when the weather allows her to!
