Meet the Team
Promoting improved fitness and a positive lifestyle.
Hi, my name is Stuart and I am registered and proud to be a member of the Association of Osteomyologists and practice as an Osteomyologist in the United Kingdom. I am a graduate of the Anglo European College of Chiropractic. I have been in active practice since 1998 and has worked throughout the UK and Europe as part of the Masters Athletic Medical team. In 2009 Stuart chose to concentrate on using his skills as a Spinal therapist and Family Care Practitioner and came off the register as a Chiropractor. His educational training ranges from Chiropractic, Spinal Corrective Care, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Physical and Functional Medicine, Physical Rehabilitation, Nutrition, Sports Injury recovery and overall Wellness and by relying on these multiple disciplines he cares for his patients to the best of his abilities. He is a dedicated Osteomyologist. "Osteomyology puts aside the usual tunnel vision of rigidly trained philosophies and allows the doctor/practitioner to switch seamlessly from one bodywork protocol to another even combining some methods together, this way the doctor/practitioner is never defeated as his/her armoury is limitless and hence focusing on providing better patient care". His clinical focus and passion revolves around Posture, Spinal and Subluxation Corrective Care and Wellness, to include healthy eating and exercise for health.
He still regularly attends International Chiropractic as well as UK based conferences and thereby keeps up to date with all the latest research. Understanding that good health and nutrition are so closely linked, in 2010 Stuart set up the Heritage Allotment Coral in Southend. As a keen amateur gardener, he demonstrates to his practice members how a complete novice can very quickly start to grow fruit and vegetables for their own family. In this way they benefit from all the nutrition without the concerns of genetic modification, pesticides, herbicides or chemically manufactured fertilizers. In addition there are substantial cost savings from 'growing your own'! He also enjoys many outdoor pursuits including walking, riding and cycling and all activities which promote fitness and good health. Stuart has always helped and cared for those around him and the decision to set course for his Chiropractic qualifications was made whilst he was still only a teenager. Now as an Osteomyologist he oversees the health and wellbeing of his practice members and enjoys helping them to enjoy improved fitness and a positive lifestyle.
As part of Stuart's family and paediatric qualifications he is also a Webster certified practitioner, for more information about how this technique can assist with some potentially difficult births please click here "the Webster technique explained".
For peace of mind, please note our Clinical Director is CRB approved as of 24/7/12, disclosure number: 001372164358
Damian Larrett M Chiro
Doctor of Chiropractic
Hi, my name is Damian Larrett and I am a Doctor of Chiropractic here at the Spinal and Natural Healthcare Centre.
My 1st experience of Chiropractic was when I was 12 years old and I heard my mum talking about it. She had been in a car crash year's previously and had tried many therapies to help her whiplash injury but had found that chiropractic was the only therapy which really helped her problem. After injuring my neck whilst playing rugby, I went to visit the same chiropractor and found what they did fascinating, not only did they relieve my neck problem but solved a long standing shoulder injury from cricket which hadn't responded to other therapies.
Being treated consistently up to leaving school, I decided that the profession was for me and went to study chiropractic at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in the University of Glamorgan for 4 years, graduating with a Masters of Chiropractic.
I enjoy treating people from all walks of life and feel everyone could benefit from chiropractic care. My other passion is sport, whether playing or watching. I like to partake in cricket and golf but love watching all sports especially rugby and football.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you improve your quality of life through chiropractic care.
Damian Larrett, MChiro.

As the Certre Manager, I am always available to help you and offer any assistance you may require, either in person here at the Centre or over the telephone. In addition to my work here, I am kept very busy fulfilling my other role in life – that of a wife to my husband Karl and a mum to my two lovely children, who you may at the Centre from time to time having adjustments – usually after some sort of sporting accident! I feel sure we will be able to assist you with any aches or pains you may have and I look forward to welcoming you to the Centre.
Hi, my name is Pamela Cox and I am a Clinical Assistant here at Spinal & Natural Health. I have worked with Stuart, and Joanne, our massage therapist, for just over 2 years and I have found the health information I have learned beneficial in my own day to day life. Although I only work part time, I am kept busy looking after my Family. My Husband is Mike and I have three grown up children & two Grandchildren. I am called upon to look after my grandchildren on numerous occasions. One of which is a full day every week and for this I need to be both healthy & active. I have suffered with back/bone problems for many years and I now have severe Spondylisis and osteoporosis. However, since having adjustments and massage here on a regular basis together with a healthy eating pattern and regular exercise, I have been able to cut down dramatically on the amount of medicine I need to take. I walk at least three times a week and, with the aid of a pedometer, I aim at between 5,000 and 6,000 steps on each walk. I also enjoy aqua aerobics once a week and overall I feel much better in myself. My regime does not however, rule out the occasional glass of wine or an overindulgent meal out when the occasion demands! If I am personally unable to answer any of your questions, I will always arrange for Stuart or Joanne to talk to you directly and supply the information you require. I look forward to meeting you and to offering you a cup of tea or coffee when you visit.
For many years I have had an interest in complimentary therapies, I enjoy visiting Mind, Body and Spirit festivals. I often thought that it would be a wonderful way to earn a living, helping other people obtain a better quality of life. So I chose to train to be a hypnotherapist at the prestigious Essex Institute in Southend-on-Sea. The diploma I gained is the equivalent of a University degree and is in fact accredited by Birmingham University. I am also a Reiki Master but have chosen to concentrate on Hypnotherapy. I have previously been a member of St. John Ambulance Brigade and still support the splendid work they do.
Hypnotherapy can be used to help people with many of the problems and difficulties they may be experiencing. Problems such as weight management, stress reduction, confidence building, exam nerves, driving test nerves, social phobias (shyness etc.), goal achievement, habit breaking (nail biting or smoking cessation) and many more can be helped by hypnotherapy. Another use for hypnotherapy is where analysis is used. For example, if someone has suffered a trauma in earlier life and has trouble dealing with the consequences, it could be preventing them from leading a full and happy life today. It could be that they have suffered sexual or emotional abuse or simply lost a loved one at a crucial time in their life. This could leave them feeling guilty, that in some way the abuse was their fault, or that they had failed in a relationship when in fact they were not to blame at all.
As a therapist I am required to do Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and this means I have to attend a certain number of seminars and training courses to ensure that I maintain the highest standard of care towards my clients.
I also offer the WILL-STOP virtual Gastric Band, a method of weight management using hypnosis where the client is given the suggestion that they have had a gastric band fitted to help them lose weight. Hypnosis is a safe, drug-free method of achieving beneficial changes as opposed to the risks that may be encountered should the client chose surgery as their route to losing weight, Hypnosis is experienced on a daily basis by everyone, rather like a daydream, or being totally engrossed in a book, film or TV programme.
